Digital is a medium that is constantly growing and evolving. A number of our WOODS team recently took the opportunity to attend a business conference and have compiled five quick tips to help you make the most of digital.
With 90% of Kiwis now online, and 80% of them carrying out online research before they decide to buy, you need to have your website optimised through search engine optimisation (SEO). An optimised website means your website is easier for customers to navigate when they search for you on their mobile device. If they can’t find what they’re looking for fast, they’ll look somewhere else.
Digital platforms and tools allows us to target particular groups of people when marketing. This makes it extremely important to know who you’re approaching and what they want to know. At WOODS we start by creating buyer personas – these help determine your customer groups and their needs. Why would each group want your product or service? What are they looking for?
Websites have THREE seconds to grab the attention of visitors. Just three. You want visitors to feel attached and choose to stay and move around your site. This all starts with them aligning with your business as soon as they arrive on your site. Your business objectives should guide your marketing strategy for your online presence. At WOODS we can work as your business partner to develop your digital marketing strategy and online presence.
Content should be able to be repurposed. That blog post you just wrote is perfect to be shared on Facebook, turned into a bite-sized summary for your eDM, and made into a quick LinkedIn post to read. Never share the exact same thing on all of your digital touchpoints, or your customers will get annoyed and bored.
In fact, 97% of consumers will google to see what’s near them on a map. This is free, so why are you not doing it already? Look at ‘Google my business’ and get onto it. While we’re talking Google, adwords is another missed opportunity for many businesses. At WOODS love helping clients incorporate adwords into their marketing, if you aren’t using adwords, you run the risk of missing out on potential customers.
