Where do you go after your career has peaked as a finalist in the 1998 Tairua Garden Club Flower Festival Cacti Section? In this case, WOODS – for Tairua’s golden boy and Ziggy Stardust lookalike, Sean ‘Peggy Sue’ Peggs.

Rumoured to be the first man to return from a tropical island holiday without a tan, Sean was drawn to the bright yellow WOODS sign like a stray ginger cat to a military-strength laser pointer. We don’t know much about his design philosophy other than his comment, “I like drawing pictures”. Let’s hope his drawings are at least as beautiful as his smile (which is fair to middling at best).

The stray cat now has a home. Welcome Peggsy. You’re a legend.
