Curate Church exists to be a global movement and voice, creating communities where people can belong, believe, become and build. A multi-location church with over 3000 members, they’re challenging the status quo and building an authentic movement that reaches far beyond the Bay of Plenty in impact.
We worked with Curate to modernise their brand so it better reflects the world we live in and the way we connect.
Inspired by the meaning of Curate, ‘to care for the soul’, the brand is built on the concept that art is the expression of the artist’s soul. ‘For the soul’ is the brand’s core message, capturing the essence of the Church and its purpose of making a difference to its community.
Celebrating the soul
The new identity is driven by the circle, which is universally used to represent the eternal, and the internal (the world inside us). The circle represents and celebrates each person’s soul – and all the personality, colour and life that is released through faith. Design is driven by the language we speak, and the beauty of the soul. Bright and expressive, bold and unashamed, simple and minimal.
The brand was designed to fit seamlessly into a digital world – with bold vibrant colours, and a simple but highly versatile design system. Icons help with instant recognition and clear communication, with large, dynamic typograpy used to create interest.
