Branding is a sensory experience – so we were stoked to partner with Tourism Bay of Plenty on Flavours of Plenty – a brand designed to spotlight and unify our rich culinary landscape. We teamed up with some passionate foodies to tell a distinctive food story, anchored in community, authenticity, and sustainability.
From palate to palette
Colour was key, and we chose a scheme that tastefully represents our rich culinary narrative. With vibrant, earthy tones inspired by the sea, soil, and local produce like avocados, berries, and honey, it’s the perfect complement to Tourism Bay of Plenty’s existing brand palette. A dark blueberry purple for text and logos provides a consistent visual theme across the brand.

The visual cornerstone of Flavours of Plenty, its logo reflects the relaxed vibe of our coastal location. Designed to be as inviting as a sunny beach day, it works for everything from family gatherings to pop-up culinary events.

Our typography is big, bold, and bright, just like the Coastal Bay’s vibrant food scene. It’s designed to capture the excitement and energy that our unique flavors bring to the table. Simple as that.
Real playful
We steered clear of the mundane and focused on using authentic photography that portrays the buzz and excitement around Coastal Bay’s food scene. Playful illustrations add another layer to the brand, portraying a “joyful celebration” of food that’s buzzing with vibrancy and excitement.

The Flavours of Plenty brand now serves as the unified voice for the region’s food story, engaging the community and helping raise our profile nationally – achieving its initial objective of simplifying and amplifying this region’s food story.
